Wiess Postdoctoral Fellow

Prior to submitting an application, candidates should contact a Rice Chemistry faculty member (http://chemistry.rice.edu/Content.aspx?id=2147485380), who must provide a letter committing to host the Fellow in his/her lab. Candidates should submit the following: (1) a cover letter indicating the faculty host or hosts whom have agreed to support candidate’s application and addressing candidate’s teaching experience and interests (2) a curriculum vitae with date of (expected) Ph.D.; (3) a publications list; (4) a short description of future research plans (not to exceed three pages including figures); (5) arrange for three references/recommendation letters: two external letters of recommendation and one letter of commitment from a Rice Chemistry faculty member agreeing to serve as mentor for the Wiess Fellow

Position Summary

Wiess fellowships are intended to facilitate launching independent academic careers by providing opportunities to engage in Rice University’s research and teaching missions in a mentored setting. Wiess teacher-scholars will conduct independent research in collaboration with Rice faculty members in the Chemistry Department and will engage in limited teaching and/or mentoring activities with faculty guidance.
