Position Summary

The Assistant Director collaborates with the Director and Accounting Area Coordinator in the on- and off-campus recruitment of MAcc (Master of Accounting) students for the Jones Graduate School of Business.

Must possess (or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with no more than three moving violations and/or at fault accidents within the past 36 months, and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the past five years.

Physical Demands

- Lifting boxes of up to 20 pounds, ability to work in front of a computer for up to 8 hours a day.

Working Conditions

Office environment.
Frequent domestic travel is required throughout the year (majority of travel occurs from August through November) to visit other universities’ campuses, forums, host receptions, and other off-campus events to recruit and interview potential applicants from outside of the Houston area. Overall, travel will occur approximately 25% of the time, but from August – November it is approximately 50%.

Some evening and weekend hours are required. There are approximately 10 evening events and 4 weekend events per year.

- Plan, manage and implement marketing projects such as receptions, open houses and contact campaigns to increase the applicant pool of the Rice MAcc program. Maintain the engagement of already admitted students, through regular communication and invitation to events, to maximize the conversion of admitted applicants to matriculating students.
