Position Summary

The Senior Systems Analyst/Software Developer works at an advanced level maintaining and designing and programming complex application and utility software in support of the university’s ERP and administrative systems including the student and financial aid systems, financials, human resources, payroll and related business functions.

The Senior Systems Analyst/Software Developer functions as a recognized expert in a combination of multiple technical and application areas and providing documentation and cross-training to other staff and in leading new initiatives.

- Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods.
- Knowledge of enterprise class business systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Software development and support skills utilizing Oracle PL/SQL, Java, XML, Javascript, CSS, and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
- Thorough knowledge of one or more of the following major application/functional areas: financials, human resources, payroll, and/or student/financial aid functional areas.

Skills Preferred

- Perl scripting, C programming.

Individual will have contact with staff, faculty, students, and vendors.

Working Conditions

As an essential employee, this employee is expected to support campus and production systems in emergency situations. The employee may be required to provide related essential services remotely or on site during or after a production system or campus emergency.

- Conceptualize design, implement, and develop solutions for complex system/programs independently.
- Work with a variety of users to gain information, and develop intra-system trade-offs between different users, as necessary; interact with a diverse client base and outside vendor contacts.
