Position Summary

The Systems Administrator works to implement and maintain complex applications and utility software in support of the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. These systems include, but are not limited to, the registration system and learning management system, web development system, and systems/applications integrated with these systems.

The Systems Administrator will work with program directors, coordinators, and the marketing team to ensure that their courses are correctly represented within all systems. He/she will collaborate with others on staff to customize user interface and improve the user experience.

Skills Required

- Have knowledge of Crystal Reports, and i-Net Crystal ClearPlus.

Job Duties

Job Duty Name SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT
Description of Job Duty

- Maintain and support the registration system, LMS, and other integrated systems.
- Document, cross-train, and assist other technical staff as needed on production support issues resolution and application/utility software development and maintenance.
- Document business rules and construct use cases and workflow diagrams as needed.
- Provide insight and recommendations to stakeholders around potential process changes or solutions.
- Gather, confirm, and document user requirements. Complete functional analysis and gap analysis of the application software and user requirements.
- Test and implement complex applications and software utilities. Provide technical support and resolve systems utilities and application problems.
- Works closely with IT Director and IT/Operations staff in providing support to staff/faculty/students.
- Staff/faculty/student Support and Application Maintenance:
• Review and respond to staff/faculty/student issues and inquiries.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide a high level of satisfaction.
• Provide training and documentation for all applications.
- Work with Rice IT and Web Services to ensure the maintenance of the applications.

- Work closely with the GSCS staff on website related/software related projects.
- Conducting ongoing audits for the website.
- Provide technical assistance on maintenance/further development of the website.
- Help establish and maintain best practices and standards for the website.
