Position Summary

In accordance with all NCAA, conference, and university policies, the position of Maintenance Coordinator will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations. The coordinator will assist with the management of daily operations of the university athletic department by planning and coordinating athletic facilities and events, including: 1) event set ups, tear downs, and facility conversions; 2) light, general maintenance of all practice and competition facilities; 3) oversight of event and game management within athletic facilities; 4) coordinate and provide support for any outside groups that rent athletic facilities; and 5) provide appropriate access to the facilities for staff, service organizations, and other university patrons.

License/Certification Required

Must possess (or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with no more than three moving violations and/or at fault accidents within the past 36 months, and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the past five years.

License/Certification Preferred

- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet required deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills.

- Knowledge of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics rules/regulations.

Internal / External Contacts

Position requires extensive interaction with coaches, athletic administrators, student athletes, alumni, and community members. Must be customer service oriented.

Physical Demands

Some heavy lifting (of up to 40 pounds) and climbing.

Working Conditions

Work frequently requires late evenings and weekends based on timing of scheduled athletic events. Work also may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as noise, extreme temperatures and inclement weather.

- Report any facilities issues that require a work order through the FAMIS system.
- Coordinate with outside vendors as it relates to outside projects.
- Provide light duty maintenance to facilitate fan experience on game days.
- Responsible for upkeep of the athletic department truck and golf carts and coordinating maintenance as needed.
- Participate in other facility management/maintenance duties as assigned.
- Coordinate grounds keeping and maintenance tasks such as trash removal, lawn maintenance, stadium, track and field maintenance, and locker room maintenance.
- Organize and analyze consumption trends for inventory of supplies and equipment. Order supplies and equipment and maintain inventory.
