Position Summary

The Center for Health and Biosciences at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy seeks a well-qualified individual to serve as a research assistant for the institute’s Fellow in Child Health Policy. The position will work primarily on needs assessment projects in Houston, Texas and will be responsible for helping to coordinate the projects and perform administrative tasks. Additional responsibilities include statistical analysis utilizing Excel, STATA, R, or other mediums; drafting publications and policy reports; and attending community meetings. This position is ideal for those interested in community health, health disparities, and health policy with both qualitative and quantitative methodological skills.

Education Required Bachelor's Degree

Sociology, public health, or a related field with considerable quantitative background.

Must be able to move about campus, and go to various school sites. Must be able to work in front of a computer for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
