Position Summary

The Editorial Assistant provides support to the Director of Center for Excellence in Tissue Engineering. In this role, the incumbent provides general administrative support and coordinates the publication of a scientific journal. This role processes manuscripts for peer-review and publication with a web-based manuscript tracking system and corresponds with editors, authors, reviewers and the publisher. This position is a representative of the Center interacting with editors, authors, reviewers and the publisher and therefore, must exhibit an amiable, professional and respectful presence. This position is a part-time, 30 hours per week, benefits-eligible position.

- Reviews manuscripts, websites, and print publications in consultation with supervisor.
- Handle administrative day-to-day duties, including data entry, maintaining files and records.
- Assist editors in computer researching efforts.
- Coordinate appointments for center and maintain work calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
