Job Duties

Job Duty Name TYPICAL DUTIES FOR MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAL, AND OTHER SKILLED LABOR POSITIONS
Description of Job Duty

- Strip, scrub, buff floors, seal, wax and apply finishes.
- Shampoo and extract carpets.
- Pressure wash surfaces.
- Remove heavy trash.
- Perform special assignments in relation to custodial services.

- Perform routine semi-skilled tasks using tools and equipment; examples of work that may be required are: cleaning of gutters and downspouts; mechanical equipment and rolling stock; replacing light bulbs; maintaining smoke detectors; unclogging drains; rough painting; rough carpentry; heavy moving and hauling; shop cleanup; changing ballast and flush valves and using lift equipment.

- Maintain landscape plants.
- Mow, edge, trim, prune, rake, plant, water, and weed the turf, trees, shrubs, ground cover, and flowers on campus.
- Clean assigned areas after work is complete.
- Pick up litter and empties trash cans.
- Clean streets, sidewalks, loading docks, and parking lots.
- Fertilize plants.
- Keep area drain grates clean.

- Routine semi-skilled maintenance assistance in support of skilled crafts.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
